WITH a rapidly changing job market and employment opportunities increasingly difficult to find, job seekers need to stand out from the crowd with an application that gets noticed.

  • Use an online template to make the CV attractive, concise and more interesting to read.
  • Include a small photo on the top left corner of the CV.
  • Add a link to your LinkedIn profile.
  • Highlight a few achievements in point form, to stand out from the rest.
  • Include a short summary (3–4 lines) at the beginning of the CV to introduce yourself.
  • Ensure that you use a standard font and not all uppercase letters.
  • Ensure that the correct contact information is on the CV.
  • Keep your CV short – it shouldn’t be longer than 3–4 pages.
  • Ensure you use the correct spelling and grammar.
