WATCH: Cowie’s Hill Park resident frustrated at ongoing sewage stink

A Cowie‘s Hill Park resident, Dave Martin, has had to endure the stench of raw sewage for the past two months.

DETERMINED to find answers, a Cowie’s Hill Park resident, Dave Martin, is pleading for assistance from anyone who can repair a sewage leak.

Since the devastating floods wreaked havoc in KwaZulu-Natal, a sewerage pipe is overflowing in Balfour Road, and the sewage is running across residents’ homes and down the verge of Duncan Barrett Road in Cowie’s Hill Park.

Martin said that the municipality attempted to drain the sewerage pipes on two separate occasions, but had no luck.

“This stream of raw sewage – about 100m long – is still occurring up to this day, despite numerous appeals to the municipality to deal with the matter.”

The resident is pleading for the leak to be fixed, stating that ‘they can no longer live like this’.

The municipality was not able to comment at the time of publication.
