Thandi has excelled in several sports – she has represented KwaZulu-Natal in touch rugby, softball, soccer and rock climbing.
Her mother, Hailey Fudu, appealed to the Highway community to support this fun run aimed at raising funds to contribute to her trip expenses.

Fudu said there is not enough funding allocated by the government to send athletes to represent the country.

“To assist, the public can contribute by registering for the fun run, raffle and food fundraiser that will be held on her birthday, Thursday, June 9,” she said.

The event will kick off at 17:45 at the Chiltern Hills Running Club.

Other fundraising initiatives include a movie night, which will be held at the Southern Rock-Climbing Gym – the dates are still to be announced.

They have R50 000 to raise in less than three months. To support Thandi, contact Haley Fudu on 083 647 4460.
