Man hit by truck on N3 – police seek relatives

The man was declared dead on scene after he was struck by a truck on the freeway.

WESTVILLE SAPS have appealed to anyone who may assist in locating family or relatives of a 50-year-old man who was hit by a truck.

KZN police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said the incident happened on May 16.

“The man was crossing the road on the N3 freeway in Pinetown, after the Spine Road bridge, when he was struck by a truck. He sustained multiple injuries and was declared dead on the scene,” said Gwala.

“A case of culpable homicide was opened at Westville police station for investigation,” Gwala added.

She reported that the man was wearing blue pants, blue jacket, grey jacket and a checked shirt.

Police appealed to anyone who may have any information about the man’s family to contact Detective Sergeant Mlambo on 072 032 6700/ 031 267 7347 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
