The programme will kick off on 3 June at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre with an Articulate Africa Book Launch. The book is a compilation of stories penned by various authors. Also on the opening day, there will be an exhibition artist at the Durban City Hall Art Gallery. Here you will meet renowned South African artist Mary Sibande whose art consists of sculptures, paintings, photography, and design.
On day two, soccer lovers will be empowered with a talk on the life and times of Patson “Sparks” Banda who will share insight into writing his book. This will be followed by an empowerment seminar on mental illness and depression with gender-based violence as a catalyst. The seminar will feature medical experts such as Dr Maud Mthembu, and Psychologist Dr Miso Mhlongo to name a few.
The final leg of the fair on Sunday 5 June, will have live entertainment at the Bay of Plenty lawns from 10am to 5pm and will be hosted by actress Thandeka “MaZulu”. The line-up includes DJ Sox, Lashona Arts, DJ Nzwiri, and Menzi the Drummer among others.
