Family fun market day postponed to next weekend

The event will take place at Home Ground Church, 2 Church Place, Westville on Saturday, May 28, from 08:00 to 12:30.

THE CAST & Highway Mail car boot sale has been postponed to next weekend. The event that excited the Upper Highway community will now be held on Saturday, May 28, from 08:00 to 12:30 due to bad weather predicted for this weekend.

The South African Weather Service (Saws) has issued warnings of the danger of possible floods as the country prepares for cold and wet weather in the coming days. As of later this evening and through the weekend, bad weather is forecast to strike practically the whole country. Residents of KwaZulu-Natal have been reminded to take extra precautions ahead of the forecasted rainy weather.

CAST is a part of the Westville community which has the goal to empower the less fortunate, better local communities and convert people from being dependent to independent.

The car boot sale, which will also act as a market-day fundraising event, will be a fun-filled morning for families to buy, dine, relax and be amused while supporting a worthy cause to help people in need.

Various home-grown enterprises will demonstrate their talent and offer items ranging from arts and crafts to home-baked delicacies at the event. There will be delicious food, live entertainment, fantastic raffles every hour, and much more, in addition to the diversity of stalls and car boot traders. A supervised Kid Zone, with numerous activities, including face-painting, candyfloss and a jumping castle, will be available at the event.

“It’s a great opportunity for home-grown businesses, big and small, to attract new customers, and for the local community to come together and support each other after a difficult period in the province,” said CAST communication officer Rolan Gulston.

CAST & Highway Mail encourages community members to come out in numbers to support this community event. Keep an eye on CAST and Caxton’s social media accounts for more information.
