Gear up for this weekend’s car boot sale

The community newspaper and the non-profit organization focusing on ending the cycle of poverty in Africa, are finalizing plans for the inaugural CAST and Highway Mail Car Boot sale.

THE event, which will take place on Saturday, May 21 from 8:00 to 12:30, will be held at Home Ground Church, 2 Church Place, Westville and will host various home-grown businesses who will showcase their wares and sell items ranging from arts and crafts to homemade baked goods.

“It’s a great opportunity for home-grown businesses, big and small, to attract new customers, and for the local community to come together and support each other after a difficult period in the province,” said CAST Communications Officer, Rolan Gulston.

Along with the variety of stalls and car-boot traders, there will be great food, live entertainment, fantastic raffles every hour and so much more. The event will include a supervised Kid Zone with various activities along with face-painting, candyfloss and a jumping castle.

With almost 50 stalls booked already, the event has space for only a few more vendors. The deadline for those still interested in booking a space to sell is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 18.

The cost for vendors is R100 for those who would like to trade out of their car boot or table, and R150 for anyone who would like to use both at the market. Email info@cast.org.za or contact 060 540 6468 to book your space and for further information.
