SHAUN Murphy better known as “Mr Miyagi” shared some insight on his passion for botany.

With a whopping collection of approximately 2500 trees, Murphy’s garden is nothing short of a miniature green heaven.
“Bonsai is, in my opinion, a living art form that is absolutely amazing. Because you grow with the tree you’ve made, the art is always expanding, and that spiritual link is extended to you. I spend every waking moment in the garden since I first started with bonsai.”
His vast knowledge about the art came from reading books about bonsai, he claimed the Durban Bonsai Society provided him with the greatest hands-on experience.
