WATCH: Cowies Hill kids clean up flooded roads

Local kids from Hopson Road, removed the sand off the roadway to ensure that residents had clear accessibility to the area.

AS soon as the rain halted a group selfless geared with wheelbarrows and spades banded together to clean up roads affected by the floods in Cowies Hill.

Hopson Road was covered with a large amounts of dirt and debris due to the heavy rainfall and flooding.

This left the roadway being covered with sand and mud. 

A resident, Trevor Crinall said, “The local children happily removed the sand off the roadway to ensure that residents had clear accessibility to the area. They also played music to keep them motivated while cleaning up the road.”

Crinall said the children worked as a team and the Cowies Hill residents are truly proud of each one of them.
