Golfers swing away for charities

Through the fundraiser, two local organisations were able to raise more than R75 000 for outreach projects.

DOZENS of avid golfers braved the rain and made their way to the Kloof Country’s Club’s greens in support of the Rotary Club of Westville and the Kingsmead Mynas golf day on Friday.

Through its initiative, they were able to raise more than R75 000 for various projects run by both organisations.

President of the rotary club, Sue Kilkie said the projects they sponsors include baby homes, orphanages, old age homes, children’s education and many others.

“All proceeds will go to various charity projects both organisations are involved in,” she said.

The Rotarians thanked everyone who made the day a success despite the rain.

There was a charity auction, raffle, prizes, lucky draws and lots of other exciting activities for guests.
