The organisation is comprised of a small group of volunteers who give up their time energy and resources to help unwanted, stray or neglected Border Collies and Border Collie mixed dogs find new homes where they will be loved and well cared for.

“We provide temporary housing, medical, rehabilitation and adoption assistance for neglected, abused or abandoned Border Collies. Our volunteers receive no compensation as 100% of fees paid for dog adoptions go to offset food and veterinarian care.

“Every dog that comes into rescue receives a trip to our vet for vaccinations, sterilization, and any other medical attention needed. All funded by donations. We are a registered NPO organisation,” said volunteer, Kay Sargent.

She explained that this highly active and incredibly intelligent breed of dog needs owners who fully understand what makes them tick.

“Without the right training Border Collies unfortunately can get themselves into trouble, and once bad behaviour is there it can be difficult to get rid of. Being quite a large group of volunteers all of us are proud owners of Border Collies and many other breeds, and have a host of dog knowledge between us and happily can offer assistance with training, grooming, or any other problems that may be encountered,” said Sargent.

She appealed to the public to help the NPO raise much needed funds. Contact 083 657 8767.
