Former youth group leader, Darius Nysschens said this reunion came after the cries from the community.

“The group was so disciplined and till today, people are still talking about it,” he said.

Nysschens said during those days, young people faced different social ills and there was lots of gangsterism in the area.

“We learnt so many life values of which we have grown up with. It was an active youth club, our support system, we were taught important skills such as leadership, discipline, trust and integrity.

“We assisted our elderly and kept out streets clean of litter. It truly made a difference,” he said.

He said the club was divided into two, a parent structure and the youth group.

“With this reunion, we hope to find a way forward and help the youth of today especially with drug abuse. The club made a difference in our lives and contributed to the decent adults we are today and we wish to give back and save our youth to better their future,” he said.

The special reunion was attended by both former youth group and the parent structure members.
