“Since Covid-19 lockdown, like many other organisations, the centre lost donors and volunteer assistance,” said Goodman Mabele, chairman of AVCDC.

The thrilled Mabele said they were grateful to receive a massive donation of fresh fruit, vegetables and meat from Heart in Hands.

Tracy Klokie, founder of Hearts in Hands said, “The centre’s desperation is a sad reminder of the impact the past two years of lockdown and restrictions.

The worst part is that the community still feels the effects as some businesses had to close and people lost their jobs,” she said.

Klokie added that they were grateful for the support from local people and businesses which enable them to help where they can.

“Our name implies our mission, we go into the community with our hearts in our hands to uplift and spread a little love and relief and we would love your support to continue to reach out and help where we can with food and supplies,” she said.
