2.2m Black Mamba slithers into Embo home

The snake was removed by Kloof and Highway inspector, Israel Silevu and has been released in a safe location.

KLOOF and Highway SPCA inspector, Israel Silevu was called to remove a Black Mamba from a family home in Embo recently.

The family was sitting in the lounge when one of the children pointed out something slithering into a speaker.

The family immediately vacated their home and the rattled home owner contacted Inspector Silevu.

“He responded immediately and on arrival and inspection was completely shocked and surprised when he found a magnificent Black Mamba curled within the speaker,” said Kloof SPCA’s Brigitte Ferguson.

Silevu gently and carefully removed the 2.2metre Black Mamba which weighed just under 2kgs.

“He transported and released it into a safe location, in the wild where he belongs,” said Ferguson.

She commended the family for reaching out to the SPCA.

Ferguson urged the public to not harm any animal, “Our phones are always manned 24/7,” she said.
