“I am excited to go to school and make friends, but I am most excited to do homework,” she said.

Her doting mother, Lizel Pramrajh, said, “She is a bright, young girl and I know that she will work hard and be an exceptional learner. I wish her and all the other little ones starting school everything of the best.”

Reanne was so excited for primary school that she had her mom begin preparations for the big day in December.

“I started preparing for her to start school and bought stationery while I was Christmas shopping. I am hoping that the school year goes better than last year. At her school, there are fewer learners and they are allowed to go to school every day. Reanne was supposed to attend Grade RR last year but, because of the pandemic, we opted against it. I am very nervous about her starting school, but I know that she will do great,” said Pramrajh.

She has been stressing the importance of wearing a mask and sanitising and ensuring that Reanne knows all of the safety precautions.

To make this school year a successful one use the following tips:
· Ensure that your child is organised and has all of the required supplies.
· Set up a morning routine to make phasing out of the holiday mood a smooth process.
· Make sure your child makes a note of all of the important dates and follows their daily to-do list.
· Explain the importance of all Covid-19 regulations.
· Find a healthy balance between school work and downtime.
