Highway residents share their favourite Christmas carols

Christmas is a time to spread love, joy and happiness into the world and many people do this through the gift of song. Did any of your favourites make the list?

CHRISTMAS is a merry time that is celebrated by billions of people around the globe. For many people, this religious and cultural day is the perfect time to relax and unwind with loved ones.

We spoke to a few residents and learnt about their favourite Christmas carols.

Kim Griffith Jones, of Connective Consulting, said that Christmas to her means spending quality time with her family.

“My family enjoys sharing stories from our childhood,” she said.

Griffith Jones mentioned that her favourite carol is ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’

Linzi Smith, a police captain, said her all-time favourite Christmas carol is definitely Jingle Bells.

“I have loved that song since I was a small child. I still sing it throughout the year. I also love Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer. I learnt that one in Sunday school. Those are my two favourite carols,” said Smith, who added that she was looking forward to Christmas.

DA councillor, Marlaine Nair said Christmas is a time of giving.

“For me as a Christian it’s about remembering and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, the most precious gift to all mankind.

“Christmas is a time when nothing except goodwill, love and forgiveness matters. I wish everyone a blessed Christmas and prosperous new year,” she said.
