The collected boxes of bread tags were donated and handed over to the association which, in return, presented the school with a ‘Thank You’ certificate.

During the handover, the Eco club team also had an opportunity to show off their vegetable garden, which was another proud achievement for the learners.

“On behalf of the Eco club, I would like to convey a big thank you to everyone who contributed towards our collection of bread tags for wheelchairs this year. We hope that next year we will be able to continue to assist the QuadPara Association of South Africa in their project, assisting people who need wheelchairs,” said Prior.

Funds from the sale of the tags are used to provide a customised wheelchair, ensuring a suitable and comfortable fit. For every 1 000 000 bread tags recycled, three wheelchairs are distributed.
