The Kloof and Highway SPCA inspectors, Israel Silevu and Petros Simamane walked for four hours to release the 19.48kg snake.

“He will be safe now and will live in the perfect place for an African Rock Python,” said the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s public relations officer, Brigitte Ferguson.

Ferguson said the SPCA is grateful the community made the call that led to the snake’s safe rescue.

“Thank you again to the community for calling our SPCA to rescue this beautiful python, and to our inspectors for carrying him carefully so he could be released. All of this is only possible because you support our Kloof and Highway SPCA,” she said.
