Durban Business Fair boosts local businesses

People came out in their numbers to support the local businesses exhibiting at the Durban Business Fair.

THE Durban Business Fair (DBF) was a resounding success, as more than 11 000 people came to support 200 local businesses at the exhibition.

The business fair was held from December 10 to 12 at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

The eThekwini Municipality’s executive committee member, councillor Nkosenhle Madlala said the City is proud to have hosted the event.

“The businesses were grateful for the platform the event created, especially since we have not been able to host the fair due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This weekend, the exhibitors had a chance to attract new clients, form new partnerships, and to boost their income through trading over the three days,” said Madlala.
He added the city will continue to create platforms to market locally produced products to both local and international investors.

Madlala urged people to support local businesses as it creates jobs and boosts economic growth. Municipal departments such as the Durban Film Office and stakeholders, including the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented opportunities available for businesses.

To plant an entrepreneurial seed at a young age, this year’s DBF hosted the Kiddiepreneur Garden, where young ones were taught business-related activities.
