Ros leaves ‘big flippers’ to fill

Ros Petrie has been associated with the Sarnia Primary School for the past 36 years.

SARNIA Primary School recently bid a fond farewell to one of its locum educators, Ros Petrie.

The principal of the school, Peter O’ Neill said Petrie has been associated with the school for the past 36 years.

“She has been both a parent and a locum educator at the school while running her swim school. She was also involved in the managing and training of successful school swim teams over the years, as well as being involved with athletics, gymnastics and netball coaching. Ros also prepared gymnastics and dance routines for the biennial school concert,” said O’Neill.

In addition, O’Neill said Petrie was a coach, mentor and mother figure to hundreds, if not thousands, of children over the years.

“She will be sorely missed and we wish her all of the best for her retirement,” said O’Neill.
