Westville coach soars to new level

Njabulo Zulu said this was extra special for him as he also played in the Craven Week rugby in 2004.

WESTVILLE Boys’ High School’s 1st XV coach, Njabulo Zulu has been appointed as the assistant Craven Week coach for 2022.

This is a full circle moment for the school as Zulu, who is a Westville Old Boy, also played Craven Week rugby in 2004.

This progression has been after numerous years in the provincial schools set up. From 2015, Zulu was involved with the Golden Lions as an Academy Week coach for three years, before he returned home to KZN and was appointed as the assistant coach for the U16 Grant Khomo teams.

He took over the head position of 1st XV coach at the school in 2021 after assisting for three years prior to this.

“It has been quite a journey and I have always been honoured to represent provincial teams. To get to do that for KZN though, my home province and for the Craven week team, a team I represented myself many years ago as a school boy, that is extra special for me,” he said.

Westville Boys’ High School’s brand and communication manager, Lyndy Coombe said Zulu’s passion for rugby, combined with his genuine care, guidance and investment into boys’ lives, is rare and the school is privileged to have him.
