Pinetown girl gives back ‘like a boss’

Like A Boss Foundation has done numerous sanitary pad drives and recently donated more that 190 pads to Thabela High School in KwaNyuswa.

SNETHEMBA Dlamini is on a mission to ensure that young women feel supported and have a place to go when life gets tough.

The founder of the Like A Boss Foundation said she started her charity work at the age of 16 by providing sanitary pads to young girls.

Dlamini said she wants to play the role of big sister to young girls from disadvantaged communities.

“Some girls don’t have a sense of direction and a mentor at home,” she said.

The 19-year-old is a former Kloof High School deputy head girl and is currently studying to become an audiologist at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Dlamini said she learned leadership during her time at Kloof High School. Her foundation has done numerous sanitary pad drives and recently donated more that 190 pads to Thabela High School in KwaNyuswa.

Next, she plans to host a school shoe drive and has called on the community to help her collect as many shoes before the school year begins.

The young philanthropist loves to sing, act and read, her current favourite read is Eckhart Tolle’s The New Earth.

Dlamini is also an entrepreneur and plans to run mentorship classes to help other young girls start up their own businesses.
