Deadline looms for Department of Arts and Culture’s grant-in-aid funding
The MEC said organisations for women, disabled people, youth and senior citizens are also encouraged to apply.
THE KwaZulu-Natal Department of Arts and Culture urged the constituted NPOs, NPCs, CBO’s and co-ops in the craft sector in the province to apply for its grant-in-aid funding.
According to the MEC of Art, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Hlengiwe Mavimbela the applicants, in their proposals, show that Covid-19 regulations and protocols will be observed.

“They will show how they are screening and social distancing as per adjusted level 1. Application for funding of a specific project must be made on a prescribed form obtainable from the head office, regional offices and departmental website,” she said.
Mavimvela said the approved organisations will be funded over a period of one year.
“Consideration will be given to organisations that have capacity and proven track record to implement craft programmes, ”she said.

According to Mavimbela, organisations that we’re funded previously, and failed to comply with provisions of PFMA and reporting systems of the department, will be disqualified.
“In addition, organisations should demonstrate the capacity to utilise funding with integrity and compliance with principles and practices of sound governance,” said Mavimbela.
She said the closing date for applications is November 26.
