Mpilwenhle only started modelling last year when she entered the Miss Pinetown pageant.

To date, she has been crowned Miss eThekwini District 10, second princess Miss Easter Bunny, first princess Miss Autumn and now she is the finalist for Miss SINW Junior.

The sassy Grade 6 learner at George Cato Primary School aspires to be a doctor when she is older.

On her journey to become Miss SINW Junior, she has visited schools Zizamele High School and Mvini Primary School, to motivate and encourage her peers to lead positive lives.

“Being an ambassador for Sakha Isizwe Ngomuntu Wesifazane has taught me to stay away from things that will ruin my future, to believe in myself as a young woman and to follow my dreams,” she said.

Mpilwenhle wants to use this title as a stepping stone to enter the International Junior Miss South Africa next year.

“She has helped a few families in her community by giving them food parcels and she will start her campaign soon where she will visit Grade 7s of Ngidi Primary and Mvini Primary with the theme, Teenage life after a Primary School,” said dad, Ayanda Shezi.

According to Mpilwenhle, the campaign aims to educate young girls, like herself, on issues of teenage pregnancy. This, she said, happens in her community, mostly during the first years of high school.

Miss SINW Junior will be crowned in December. To vote for Mpilwenhle, sms SINW MPILWENHLE SHEZI 06 to 34877.
