The project has been running ever since and is being maintained and driven by each group of students who engage with the community.

One of the students, Sanha Sukdhaw said they have collected donations of second-hand clothing and household items.

According to Sukdhaw, these donations are then sorted and sold by women in the Mariannridge area.

By donating these items, Sukdhaw said their aim is to create employment for women to help support their families.

“We are striving to curb the barriers to poverty while also implementing job skills. This initiative, that aims to aid women in need, will also provide the entire community with the opportunity to buy clothing and household items at a significantly reduced cost,” she said.

She added that they are driven by their motto: ‘Giving is not about just making a donation. It is about making a difference.’
