Previously, Hunt successfully completed two 16 Mile swims and will tackle it again next year to raise funds for Happy Bundles, a non-profit organisation (NPO) that brings a smile to children with cancer.

Happy Bundles was founded by Candice Kriel, the wife of Lions Rugby player, Dan Kriel, after she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer in 2020.

Hunt said he hopes to raise more than R20 000 for the NPO.

“I have always been a swimmer, however, not professionally. Not until three years back when I decided to push my limits with long distance swimming. I soon found myself part of the 16 mile club for Midmar Mile,” he said.

Hunt has always strived to make himself a better person and do better, another reason why he joined the Round Table. It was here that his philanthropic journey started.

Hunt is a member of the Roundtable Kloof 190.

According to Hunt, next year’s swim will push his body to the limits.

“Just mere days before the 16 Mile, I will be flying to Cape Town to swim a double Robben Island crossing (15km) that will be followed by a False Bay crossing (33 km), swimming in icy waters but also Great White Shark infested waters too,” he added.

In total, Hunt will swim 73 km in one week.
