SUMMERVELD Hound Resort invites animal lovers to a night filled with spooky surprises.

The Assagay-based, non-profit organisation (NPO) is focused on dog rescue and is excited to host a Halloween fundraiser on Saturday, October 30 from 18:00 to 22:00.

Director and co-founder, Ishani Singh said they are a family of four, who have a passion for helping animals in need.

“We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating abused, abandoned and neglected dogs. Our aim is to provide a safe haven for our rescues, allowing them to live the rest of their lives running freely on our private small holding, in a family-friendly environment.

We live on the same property as our rescues,” said Singh.

The NPO ensures that each of their rescues is fully vaccinated, sterilised and treated with the utmost love and care.

“Our rescues are fed according to their dietary requirements, and we are always monitoring their health and overall wellbeing,” said a proud Singh.

They currently have 79 rescue dogs living as permanent residents at their rescue sanctuary.

The organisation relies solely on donations from the public. The fundraiser will be held at 7a Bowles Road in Assagay.

There will be sweet treats, beverages, popcorn and hot dogs (vegan and meat) for sale. There are no card facilities on site. Entrance is a R50 donation, per person. All proceeds from this event will go towards the organisation’s dog food and vet bill.
