According to van Reenen, two municipal vehicles collided, before they left the road.

“One of the vehicles, a heavy duty truck, ploughed through a boundary wall into a residential property,” he said.

The four men were treated and stabilised on scene for injuries ranging from moderate to serious before they were taken to nearby hospitals.

“The female truck driver was found to have suffered serious injuries and a call was made by Emergency Care Practitioners to airlift her, with the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter, to a specialist facility,” said van Reenen.

He thanked the local community policing forum for their assistance on scene.
