SAPS arrest suspects for Wyebank house robbery

The three men are expected to appear at the Pinetown Magistrate's Court soon.

PINETOWN detectives arrested three suspects in Wyebank yesterday morning (Sunday, October 10) for house robbery and a rape case.

The Pinetown cluster communications officer, Captain Bongumusa Manqele said it is alleged that the victim (34) was sleeping, at her home in Zamokuhle, when she heard a noise outside.

“Before she could get out of bed, the door was kicked open and two suspects, armed with a knife and a firearm, entered the house. The suspects stole a cell phone, tablet and bank cards from the victim,” said Manqele.

The victim said she only saw two of the three men. A case of house robbery was opened at the Pinetown Police Station for investigation.

“Detectives received intelligence about the whereabouts of the suspects and they were all arrested in Wyebank,” added Manqele.

The suspects, aged between 23 and 28, are expected to appear at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon.
