Register online for your special vote

For the first time, voters may register for a special vote online.

SPECIAL vote registration for the November 1 2021 local government elections are now open. Ward 18 councillor, Melanie Brauteseth encourages registered voters to make use of the opportunity.

Brauteseth said a special vote is a mechanism made available by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to all registered voters who are not able to cast their votes on November 1 2021.

Once people have registered for a special vote, they may cast their ballot on November 30 or 31 at their local voting district.

In addition, Brauteseth said voters may register for a home visit if they are elderly, infirm or simply unable to get to the voting stations.

“For the first time, voters may register for a special vote online by visiting https://www.elections.org.za/pw/OnlineForms/Special-Vote-Online-Application,” she said.

The traditional manual special vote forms are also available from Brauteseth. She can be contacted on 073 257 8574 or email melsward18@gmail.com.
