People can expect to be wowed by the birdlife, beautiful river, grassland, flora and fauna at the Westville Eco Trai.
FROM walking your dogs to mountain biking, the Westville Eco Trail is the perfect place to unwind or exercise.

“The trail is a perfect place to visit as it is outdoors and people can social distance. This is a beautiful, convenient place but we have noticed that most people do not know it exists,” she said.
Prior to Covid-19, Nourse said they hosted exciting community fundraising activities with the eco trail which started in 2015.
She said people can expect to be wowed by the birdlife, beautiful river, grassland, flora and fauna.
Nourse said they work closely with the Westville Conservancy and the eThekwini Municipality to maintain the area.
“It all started with the removal of alien invasive plants. The place was just covered and when they were removed, this amazing place was recovered.
Durban Green Corridor assisted with building the paths.
Although there is no entrance fee, Nourse said they welcome donations as the money goes to the maintenance of the trails.

The entrance to the trail is opposite the bowling greens at the Westville Country Club. “There is parking, security and people who wish to walk their dogs are welcome to do so on condition that they must be on a leash.
“We also have Jason Harris who will assist people with their bikes should they encounter any problems while mountain biking,” she added.
People can also apply for a membership card which has exciting benefits. Email manager@westvillecc.co.za.
