Two die in serious Waterfall crash

One of the critically injured patients was flown to a nearby hospital by helicopter.

TWO people died and two others were injured in a head-on collision on Inanda Road in Waterfall this morning.

According to Emer-G-Med’s Kyle Van Reenen, a light motor vehicle and a light delivery vehicle collided.

“Two people were found in a critical condition and were attended to by a private ambulance service,”  said Van Reenen.

One male, believed to be 40 years old, was in a critical condition when paramedics arrived on scene. Van Reenen said they attempted to resuscitate the man, but he was declared dead on scene.

“Another male patient, believed to be 40 years of age, was treated and stabilised on the scene  before being airlifted to a nearby hospital for further care,” said Van Reenen.

Traffic was severely affected. The cause of the collision is not yet known and SAPS is investigating.
