Waterfall woman assaulted, threatened with screwdriver

The suspect was arrested and taken to RK Khan hospital under police guard.

A WATERFALL woman was assaulted and threatened with a screwdriver on Monday, August 9.

Hillcrest SAPS communications officer, Capt Linzi Smith said the victim was outside her kitchen door when she saw two unknown men approaching her.

“One of the men got into the house and threatened the victim with a screwdriver.  A scuffle broke out. The victim’s guard, who was outside, heard the scuffle and activated the panic button.”

According to Smith the home invader was shot by a guard from a security company after he witnessed the suspect assaulting the woman.

“The suspect was arrested and taken to RK Khan hospital under police guard,” said Smith. She added that a case of attempted house robbery was opened at Hillcrest SAPS.
