Post Office confirms list of countries accepting South African mail
South Africans can now send mail to and receive parcels from 40 countries.
WITH the opening and closure of borders in a constant state of flux due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, the South African Post Office confirmed that South Africans can now send and receive mail from 40 countries.
“The mail service has become available to and from more countries after more international transport connections became available,” said the South Africa Post Office spokesman, Nobuhle Njapha.
The countries include:

-Botswana
-Brazil
-Canada
-China
-Czech Rep.
-Denmark
-England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
-France
-Germany
-Greece
-Hungary
-India
-Ireland
-Israel
-Italy
-Japan

The Post Office has since introduced an electronic customs declaration form on its website to allow for what it noted as ‘quick and easy customs clearance of incoming and outgoing parcels’. The form for this can be found under the ‘tools’ tab on its website (www.postoffice.co.za).
“International transport connections are not running optimally owing to reduced flights, and therefore the delivery time for international items is longer than normal,” said Njapha.
