Pinetown supermarket reopens after looting

Boxer Pinetown and Boxer Berea was quickly transformed back to normal following the recent looting, which devastated 100s of shops across the country.

DESPITE the chaos of the recent unrest, KZN’s own supermarket group, Boxer quickly managed to open two of its stores. 

The supermarkets KZN stores, like many other shops, were severely affected by last month’s the looting.

Boxer Group executive, Ntombi Dludla said Boxer Berea and Boxer Pinetown reopened its doors on Tuesday, July 27 after a quick turnaround, thanks to ‘Operation Shanela’.

“The company focused its energy on restocking, replacing and repairing its many KZN stores as quickly as possible.

“We are energised by the support given to us by our teams and most importantly by our loyal shoppers who have shown so much love for Boxer over the past two weeks. We can proudly say that we are reopening doors so that our beloved family of shoppers can once again enjoy our affordable offerings,” she said.

 She added that Boxer’s Pinetown and Berea Stores service thousands of shoppers and the reopening had brought sighs of relief to eager customers. 

“As Shanela operations continue, the supermarket is expected to open many of its stores this week,” said Dludla.
