Hillcrest SAPS arrest armed house robber after shootout

One of the house robbers is still on the loose.

HILLCREST SAPS caught a 34-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a house robbery in KwaNgcolosi this morning.

According to the victim, two armed suspects entered his home and, at gunpoint, demanded cash.

“The suspects assaulted and stabbed the victim. They stole cash, cellphones, a TV, clothes and other belongings before fleeing the scene in the victim’s vehicle,” said the spokesman for KZN SAPS, Colonel Thembeka Mbele.

While en route to the location of the robbery, which occurred at about 02:30am, Hillcrest SAPS gave chase when the vehicle stolen during the incident was spotted.
