Readers crow for launch of SPCA’s new bookshop

Readers can rejoice at the pocket-friendly second-hand bookshop in Kloof.

IF you are an avid reader, you are sure to find the perfect book to curl up with this winter at the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s newly launched Reading Rooster book shop at 84 Old Main Road in Kloof.

“We are so excited to finally share with you our stunning new, little book shop that we have been working so hard on getting ready,” said the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s manager, Barbara Patrick.

The quaint store is chock-a-block with work from incredible authors such as Jodi Picoult, JK Rowling, JD Robb and James Patterson.

Aside from the numerous good quality books, paintings, clothes, ornaments, antiques and collectables will also be on sale.

“The shop was opened in the hope that the many people who do not always get a chance to come to our book shop at our on-site The Village Green find the convenience of the Reading Rooster appealing. We also receive a generous amount of book donations and this will be another valuable outlet,” said Patrick.

If you’re passionate about reading, or in need of a great book to help you escape the hustle and bustle of life for a few hours, the shop is open from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 15:00 and on Saturdays from 08:30 till noon. Quality, second-hand books can be donated at the shop. All level 4 Covid-19 safety protocols are in place. The store has a ‘no mask, no entry’ policy.
