Heartwarming donation for Gillitts learners

Gillitts Primary School's learners were each gifted a thick, warm blanket ahead of winter.

WITH the nights becoming colder, the donation of 450 blankets for the children at Gillitts Primary School was made in the nick of time.

When the children were handed the brand new fluffy blankets, there was a sea of smiles across the school as the learners hugged them tightly to their chests.

The donation of blankets was made by the school’s long-term sponsor, the Cooke Fuller Group, with transportation provided by Farmboy Towing and Recovery.

“This was a donation from both the staff and the company and it feels especially good to help a school that has been able to do so much with the sponsorships. Under new guidance, this school has turned from what was described as dysfunctional to a school of excellence as it is now recognised as the best school in the circuit,” said Emma Fuller from the Cooke Fuller Group.

Jerome Zulu (KwaSanti circuit manager), Arti Jadoo (principal) and Colleen Saunders (Cooke Fuller Group) with a few of the donated blankets.

Jerome Zulu, the KwaSanti circuit manager, said he was proud of the ongoing work by the school’s dedicated principal and team of educators.

“What really gets me is that their work is to teach and the team here at the school go above and beyond to take care of the learners inside and out of the classroom,” said Zulu.
