DOZENS of residents at the Waterfall Retirement Home stepped up to virtually support the 14th annual Jade Sky Memorial Hike.
The event, spearheaded by Ian and Mandy Tyrer of Maritzburg Tutor Centre, in association with DKMS-Africa (formerly known as The Sunflower Fund), was open to virtual and in-person supporters.
The hike is held in memory of Jade Preston who passed away from leukaemia when she was eight years old.

The hike was initially held to raise funds to support Jade’s brave fight but has since been held in her memory after she succumbed to her illness.
To add a personal touch to the event, the group of supporters donned yellow and either pinned sunflowers to their clothing or carried them along with them on their walk.
