According to Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, it is alleged that the missing boy was abandoned by his biological mother when he was 10 months old and was raised by his father and stepmother in Johannesburg.
Manqele said the father of the boy passed away in 2018 and the biological mother wanted her son back.
“On 21 May this year, the biological mother was granted custody of the child by the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court. On 3 June this year, the stepmother approached the Johannesburg High court and was given full custody of the child.”
Manqele reported that the child and the biological mother, who resided in Wyebank, cannot be found.
Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the missing boy to contact the investigating officer, Det/Sgt Mdunge on 082 555 6254 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
