Police recover 7 hijacked vehicles in Durban areas

The vehicles were recovered as a result of a multi-disciplinary operation which was carried out by police and a tracking company. 

POLICE, together with a tracking company, discovered seven hijacked vehicles on Wednesday, 23 and Thursday, 24 June during a multi-disciplinary operation which was carried out in KwaNdengezi, Mariannhill, KwaDabeka, Lamontville and surrounding areas.

Col Thembeka Mbele said the team worked tirelessly following up information on vehicles that were hijacked in Durban.

“A Hilti jackhammer and a compressor was recovered at Greenwood Park. The team recovered seven vehicles during the operation,” she said.

According to Mbele, the vehicles were hijacked in Cato Manor, KwaNdengezi, Inanda, Glenmore and other areas.

“The suspects are still being sought by police. Operations are still on going to track the suspects involved in theft and hijacking of vehicles in the province,” she said.
