Superb talent brightens up night market

With more than a dozen stalls selling locally made products and live entertainment, there was something for everyone at the inaugural night market.

ONE of the Westville Country Club’s parking lots came alive recently as the Westville Varsity College students hosted a successful Open Mic Night Market.

For everyone’s safety, each visitor was screened at the entrance and asked to sign a register.

The concept of the event was ‘for our students, by our students’ and the local campuses’ social committee, which consists of current full-time students, planned it as one of the major events for the year. Students were asked to participate in the open mic event or, if they have their own businesses, were encouraged to sign up as vendors.

“This gives our students an opportunity to showcase and sell their products and for their peers to support them,” said Westville Varsity College’s public relations and events coordinator, Kara Lortan.
