AFTER a long gap, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Drummond Conservancy will once again host its indigenous plant sale on Saturday, 29 May at 3 Duiker Drive from 9am to 2pm.
The plant sale will offer a huge range of beautiful indigenous plants and trees and there will also be local experts on hand that will offer advice on the plants available and the best practices to eradicate invasive alien plants (IAP’s).
Drummond Conservancy is registered with Conservancies KZN and has been in operation for more than 20 years. Its purpose is to encourage residents to be pro-active in caring for the local environment and the eradication of IAP’s, and to replace them with appropriate indigenous flora.

“By promoting the increase in the variety and number of indigenous plants, birds and other wildlife in the area, the Conservancy is creating corridors of green open space along river areas and between properties and fences,” said the conservancy’s Felicity Von Oettingen.
The always-popular produce table will provide a variety of delicious organic and locally made goodies, from jams and pickles, free range eggs and crunchies to shortbread, cheese bites, gluten free rusks and more.
Visitors can enjoy a enjoy a free cup of coffee or tea with a delicious home-made treat. Beer, wine and soft drinks are also available for purchase. No dogs allowed as there are loose dogs on the owner’s property. Covid-19 current regulations will be adhered to and patrons must wear a mask. Directional signage will be set up along the route.
