Trapped trespasser busted in Winston Park home

The man could not escape and was found hiding at the back of the house.

A TRESPASSER was arrested after he was found hiding behind a residential home in Winton Park, on Tuesday afternoon.

Blue Security operations director, Brian Jackson said an alarm was activated and the elderly couple who reside in the house just assumed it was the monkeys who had set off the beams.

However, when the community command centre received the same alert, they immediately dispatched an armed response officer (ARO).

“The officer conducted a perimeter check and found that there was indeed a trespasser on site. The suspect triggered the beams and was hiding at the back of the house.

“It appeared that once he was in the yard, he found it difficult to escape,” said the operations director.

Jackson commended the officer for his swift response, which led to the apprehension of the suspect.

“Elderly couples have sadly become a target for thieves. Thankfully they were not harmed, and no housebreaking or robbery occurred,” added Jackson.
