South African Post Office plans to merge two Westville branches

All post boxes from the one branch will be transferred to the new branch.

IN a move to optimise its network of branches, the SA Post Office has noted it plans to merge the Wandsbeck Post Office with the Westville branch on Thursday, 27 May.

The Wandsbeck Post Office is situated at the Village Market, 123 Jan Hofmeyr Drive in Westville.

“There are enough tellers at the Westville Post Office to make sure that waiting times for customers are acceptable. Where branch amalgamations are considered, the first preference is to consider a nearby post office. Only branches in urban areas are considered for amalgamation. No rural post offices are amalgamated,” said The South African Post Office’s Nobuhle Njapha.

Post boxes will also be moved to Westville Post Office. To eliminate long waiting times, the Post Office has introduced separate queues for different transactions.

Njapha said this would serve to eliminate crowding and ensure that Covid-19 regulations are adhered to.
