Three learners; Ntando Nyembe, Jashoda Jeawan and Alwandle Ntake brought snacks, cupcakes and sweets to make this fundraising initiative a success.
“The treats were sold over three days, the children were very supportive and we ended up raising R1600. One of the learners, Ntando, baked his own cakes,” said Retallick,
HENW treasurer, Melanie Nel said they were amazed and happy about this wonderful donation from such a small school.

“This will help us install another camera so that our control room can watch over another road and more houses in the area.” As a community neighbourhood watch, Nel said they work closely with the police to try and fight crime.
“Patrollers are volunteers who do this with love to protect their communities. We also work hand-in-hand with fellow neighbourhood watches such as Ashley, Mariannridge, Farningham and Glen Park.
Nel said their job is not only to alert communities on crime activities but they also embark on other projects as well.
“We have a pet group where we share lost or found pets. We have a busy schedule, as we do outreach programmes and host fundraisers to assist the control room and struggling families,” she said.
