The market will be hosted by The Once Upon a Time Charity shop which supports 18 beneficiaries.

There will be live music, delicious food and vendors with handmade products on sale.

The talented entertainer took some time out of his schedule to chat to the Highway Mail:

Who is Gino?
Gino is shy and eccentric singer/emcee seasoned with a touch of quirkiness and an eclectic sense of ‘strange’ second to none. I may be known for events hosted by Sibaya Casinos, Shall We dance at the Elizabeth and Opera Theatre, Playhouse, Sneddon Theatre, Rhumbelow Fringe Theatre and some markets like Musgrave and the evergreen Golden Hours In Uitsig Road, in Durban North.

Can you describe yourself in three words?
Funny, gangly and happy (with a face like mine how can you not?)

What is one thing that people do not know about you?
I will never walk into a function room, venue or hall – unless someone assists by walking alongside me. I had such an experience last week – OMG.

What has been your favourite journey thus far?
The process of learning lines and music during a production of Oliver. When the pieces come together, it is a great sense of accomplishment.

Who is the important person in your life?
I have recently learnt that I am the most important person in my life. My poppet, Leisel-Mareé, once said to me, ‘Dad, if you can’t take care of yourself, how are you going to be responsible enough to take care of me or others’?

What does music mean to you?
Music is a way of expressing myself and emotions at any space and time in my life. Furthermore music is company when I am alone.

Have you every released an album?

No, I have never had the mindset or confidence to even record.

What do you do besides music and work?
Reading and writing poetry (now and then) and lots of cooking, as you can see by my Covid body.

How old are you?
I am legal mmmm haha! but it depends on you.
