Support ‘fur friends’ fun walk at Giba Gorge

The Cause 4 Paws walk will be held at Giba Gorge to raise funds for two rescue shelters.

A FUN walk to raise much-needed funding to help with kennel fees, vet bills, feeding and taking care of the dogs in two rescue shelters will be held on Sunday, 25 April at Giba Gorge.

The Cause 4 Paws walk will be hosted by Serendipitty Rescue in KZN in collaboration with a JHB rescue organisation called Stafford Rescue Africa run by Lauren Mallet.

Serendipitty is a breed specific organisation, started by Nicole Jack.

The organisation rescues and, where possible, rehabilitates and re-homes pitbulls. Stafford Rescue is breed specific and rescues, rehabilitates or re-homes Stafford terriers.

“We often assist each other, have the same goals and work well together which was the reason we decided to host an event to benefit both organisations.

“People can relax and enjoy nice music on the day. All breeds are welcome at the event as long as they are on leads at all times. Even people who do not have a fur friend are welcome to join us and participate in the walk,” she said.

Jack promised a fun day for everyone adding that there will be competitions and prizes.

“There will be vendors selling goodies and a dog wash so people can have their pooches bathed and pampered after their walk,” she said.
