M7 closed after multiple vehicle collisions

There were three reported accidents along the M7, Durban bound, this morning.

THE M7, Durban bound, has been closed after multiple vehicle collisions this morning.

According to Garrith Jamieson of KZN VIP Paramedics, the affected area is between the Main Road and Bellville Road off-ramps.

The first incident occurred by Bellville Road off-ramp.

While personnel were on scene another collision happened behind them, involving approximately 10 vehicles.

He reported that while more paramedics were dispatched to the second scene, a third accident occurred between multiple vehicles and a motorbike.

Jamieson said approximately 12 people sustained injuries and were stabilised at the scene. 

Metro Police and SAPS are also in attendance.

“The weather has caused the roads to be extremely slippery and I would advise all motorists to avoid this area at all costs,” said Jamieson.
