Pinetown policewoman shot, killed in domestic dispute

The suspect's firearm was found next to his body.

KWADABEKA and Mariannhill police are investigating charges of murder and an inquest docket after a female Pinetown police officer was allegedly shot and killed by her partner on Saturday, 10 April.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Col Thembeka Mbele said the 28-year-old officer was fatally shot after a domestic dispute at the KwaSanti area in Mariannhill.

According to Mbele, her killer then proceeded to R Section in KwaDabeka where he fatally shot his 35-year-old ex-girlfriend.

The 33-year-old suspect is believed to have then shot himself in the head. 

“His firearm was found next to his body. Both matters are still under investigation,” added Mbele.
